Stewardship vision

“Standing Firm For God’s Vision” is this year’s Stewardship campaign theme based onI Corinthians 15:58.  A vision is a God-given dream, a picture of what could be. It is a revelation of God’s will and plan for our church. God has planted His vision in the hearts and minds of our leaders and members. The basics of this vision include 1) Connecting everyone in small groups, 2) Serving in ministry and mission, 3) Growing in discipleship, and 4) Extending our influence by growing servant leaders. It is not enough to know God’s vision; we must also share and honor His vision.

Our country and world is facing many major challenges on many different fronts. God has called our church to do something positive and constructive about the challenges we are facing. I challenge you to prayerfully spend time asking God how He wants you to fulfill your five-fold commitment “to be loyal to the church and support it by my prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness.”

God has called our church to be a beacon of hope and light in a darkened world. Miracles are happening in and through First United Methodist Church. I believe that our church is being raised up and called for such a time as this. I can only imagine the impact our church will have if we share and honor God’s vision by standing firm.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart in advance for the commitment that you are about to make because your church is going in the direction that God wants us to go. May God bless you as you embrace, proclaim, and act upon His vision.
