As the Director of our weekday Early Childhood Education program, First Beginnings, I cannot say it is my “job”, it is my passion and part of my soul. I felt called into this ministry; I was not looking for a job. I began as a volunteer, with my own 3 children attending 1st Beginnings, I wanted to be a part of their educational experience, that was 36 years ago. At that time I began to see the need for additional quality, early education in our community. I had a vision for my church to provide a wonderful place for parents to leave their young children with no worries and know they are loved and cared for, while at the same time their children are receiving educational opportunities that we know and understand to be so very important in these critical early years. My husband, Richard and his family grew up at 1st Methodist, it has been many years of loving memories I have been blessed to be a part of.
