Open Table brings people living in financial poverty together with a group of 6-8 people to mentor and guide them into living a full life.  People have specific roles like healthcare, education, spiritual, housing, transportation, & finance.  Louisiana has partnered with Open Table to help children aging out of foster care, and they are asking faith groups to help “staff” the tables.  It is a one-hour per week commitment for up to a year.  The table will work with one teenager, assigned to them by DCFS, to help guide him or her into independent, productive living but mostly to give him or her reliable connections & networks.  Let Michelle know if you’d like more information or to volunteer to participate in a table.  You don’t have to be an expert in any field, only a servant willing to help a teenager reach his or her full potential!
